Hi,
Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.
Nov 1, 2018 - Windows 10 reports CHKDSK Not Available for RAW Drives USB pendrive and chkdsk can not be run on the drive, the type of file system is raw. After the drive became RAW, we always use chkdsk /f command to fix RAW drive, RAW USB drive, RAW SD card, RAW external hard drive, but chkdsk reports: The type of the file system is RAW. Chkdsk is not available for RAW drives.
I understand your concern and will assist you to resolve this issue.
You can see this error when CHKDSK was unable to determine the file system used on the drive. I mean when it find incorrect file system, it fails to run it function. If possible try to change the file system to NTFS to see if works fine. You can do it by formatting the drive completely. While doing this it will give an option to select the file system either to NTFS or FAT32.
But ensure to take backup of files before you initiate the format. Format will wipe out all files.
I would also suggest you to scan your computer with Microsoft Safety Scanner, which would help us to get rid of viruses, spyware, and other malicious software.
